Hot Wheels id was an innovative, short-lived (2019–2022) Mattel line blending physical 1:64 scale diecast cars with digital gaming via embedded NFC chips. Each car had a unique ID, allowing players to scan them into a mobile app to track speeds, count laps, and build a digital garage. The system, featuring high-end Spectraflame paint and exclusive wheels, was discontinued in 2022 due to low sales, with app support ending on December 31, 2023.
